I'm just going to go ahead and give myself a pat on the back.
Yeah, I know, that is super self-absorbed. But seeing twice in one week that I saved myself an ass load of money is something to rejoice about.
Earlier this week, we talked about the rocking chair that I scored for 1/10th of the price.
Then, the other day I saw this.
This, is the Eclipse Chandelier over at West Elm.
This is also $249.00
Please, do not get me wrong, this is a beautiful chandelier. I love the sleek design, the bubbled glass and the Edison bulbs. It's beautiful. And in the right space it will bring a beautiful industrial yet rustic vibe along with it.
I however stared at this for quite come time, flabbergasted.
Last year, I hunted forever for something exactly like this that would be under $300. It didn't exist.
That's why I did this.
Doesn't my spray painted Habitat chandelier look amazingly similar? It's not exact, mine is a little more geometric, but it's close enough for me! Especially since I paid a total of $20 for my chandelier and makeover.
Someone call me Sabrina Soto because I am rocking out some High Low projects!

i actually like yours better--- it blows my mind how expensive lighting is!!!
ReplyDeleteI like yours better too. I'm surprised that more people don't thrift for light fixtures. It's one of my favorite things to do.
ReplyDeleteGo, Sabrina!!! (you asked for it...haha) Seriously, I like yours better...the shape of it is better. And the price!!! Woo Hoo! No way this girl can afford to spend that kind of money on lighting. Sadly, I never seem to find the good stuff at the secondhand stores around here.
ReplyDeleteWhy thank you! I hit up thrift stores whenever I'm in different towns too- that seems to be how I get a cool mix and a lucky streak. Different towns have different things! Also, try www.shopgoodwill.com :)
DeleteLook at you go! I love it :)
ReplyDeleteWell you know, it's not birthing a child or anything ;) I think you win this month!
DeleteI like your chandy better. The West Elm would be amazing in a slightly larger place, but yours works better in your dining room!
DeleteI like yours better too!!
ReplyDeleteYou are so sweet. I always enjoy when you comment!
DeleteWe've got 3 lights from Habitat/ReBuilding Center (in Portland) in our house. None more than $25, love them all. Glad to have found you through AT--looking forward to coming back.
ReplyDeleteHi Rita! Thank you for click over to us! I hope you keep coming back :)
DeleteI absolutely love your table...oh, and the light fixture is pretty bad ass, too!
ReplyDeleteThank you! Refinishing that table almost killed me.
