Nate, is asleep on the couch nursing a food baby after dinner. He's snoring away and I'm surrounded by dogs starting to twitch.
I haven't used a power tool in weeks. It's all been decorating.
I wanted to smash, break, or create something. So I climbed over to where he was on the couch and pinched him.
"Oh. My. God. WHATTTT."
"Where's my jigsaw?"
"What the fuck do you need a jigsaw for at 8 at night!"
"I'm having a moment."
"Ugh, it's in my trunk, go away..."
So after gathering my favorite tool and some scrap pieces of plywood, I began to freehand a design.
By the time I came back inside Nate was awake (and slightly cranky) and he took one peek at what I did and said, "Oh. That's cool. Where's it going?"
So I showed him.
Then, I realized that it would look better if I made it bigger.
So, I went out to the garage and made another and then made Nate hold them up on the wall.
Even in all of his crankiness, I got his seal of approval.
Want to know what I made?
I think the online paint samples don't do them justice- the colors match the recliner perfectly in the room- so think of them more like the leaf vs the flower...and of course the seal is what is on the wall.
What do you guys think? I'm leaning towards the pencil because it will look great with the bookshelves (the backs are pencil), but at the same time we haven't infused the green anywhere yet and this may be a perfect opportunity. Plus the tortoise shell tiles around the fireplace have green undertones to them.
Think long and hard people. You can see this thing from the front door.
