Cat's Out of The Bag.

You know, if I wasn't a blogger I wouldn't have these devastating, crushing, terrible feelings when I see something that "I'm completely in love with and decorating around that I've never seen before" pop up in someone else's house on the internet.

It totally takes all the fun out of it.

I guess it means I'm stylish- but I also feel like getting my Regina George on and saying really unneeded mean things. But I won't, because I'm a grown up, but it just sucks when the fun is taken out of the OMG LOOK WHAT I DID! and everyone can be like...yeah- we've seen it- next project please.

It's like buying the same fabric and saving it for a perfect project and then Young House Love uses it. (Poor Kenz) Normal people don't have these problems. Normal people would not know that the same fabric was used in Utah and Virginia. Bloggers know. Bloggers stalk people. Bloggers are really secretive so people don't "take our ideas"

The sad thing is that we usually all have the same ideas.

In fact, by my spilling the beans on my wallpaper for the nursery, you all probably would never have known it was somewhere else.

But I know, and I have to give credit where credit is due.

Without further adieu. May I present, the nursery wallpaper.

This is the Hygge & West Daydream wallpaper in "Almost White/Sunshine" and I've had a sample of it taped up since two days after we bought our house.

The sister version of this popped up in the last month on both The Lettered Cottage and Danielle Oakey please go show them some appreciation for beating me to the punch. (And make sure to tell them how much you love it in their rooms because they really did do a BEAUTIFUL job that did the wallpaper justice)

Also, be prepared to worship this wallpaper in our nursery- because it is going to be so bad ass.

  1. This is so freaking true. My husband said that nothing is original anymore, and it sure feels like it! I had this fantastic idea for an accent wall. I ended up searching Pinterest (because I wanted to congratulate myself on having a unique idea). Lo and behold I found that my idea is already a wallpaper. A wallpaper featured on design*sponge. I'm still going to do it my way, and it'll be awesome. It's still frustrating though. I love that wallpaper and take comfort in the fact that each room it's used in will be uniquely decorated. :)

  4. Love the wallpaper and can't wait to see it in your nursery. I did see it a little while back on " the Lettered Cottage Blog" and love how they used it. That said I think even though nothing seems original anymore I think it's what you do with your own space that makes it original to you. Does that make sense??? Think about all the bloggers who made sunkist mirrors out of paint sticks. It wasn't an original idea but each one looked amazing in their own space.

    1. You're sweet Crystal! It's true, it will look completely different than everyone else's but I felt like I needed to share before I looked like a copy-cat!

  5. I love birds!! I've loved birds before it was cool to love birds!! So I know what you mean. Something I've been doing for ages - having little birdy things around the house, is now trendy. I hate being trendy.

That wallpaper is AMAZING!!!! I absolutely LOVE it, and it's going to look awesome when you are done!!

I love brdz - I have a Pinterest board full of them. Just search for a board called brdz. :-)

  7. LOVE! It is too bad you weren't the first to blog about it, but they wouldn't even MAKE the wallpaper if a bunch of people didn't want to buy it. But I know how you feel. It's like baby names. If it weren't for Tori Spelling, Abe might be named Finn.

  9. Actually, you are still original because all of their wallpaper has teal birds and yours has yellow. Just sayin...

  12. This is oh so freakin true. Matter of fact it happened TODAY! I've been planning this really sorta ingenious window garden idea for like a month now and was gonna work on it this weekend and do a reveal next week and today Emily Henderson snuck a pick of pretty much the same damn thing on Instagram. Dammit! How the hell can I possibly compete with Em Hen! My immediate thought was "oh great, now everyone is gonna think I got the idea from her". Oh well, what can you do, right? And ummmmm nursery? Did I miss something? Great paper, by the way.
